Hello and welcome to the website promoting the much-neglected American Civil War Battle of Hatcher’s Run, February 5-7, 1865. Never has such a comprehensive appraisal of the battle been presented before.

 

The central feature is a free to read, 70,000-word, scholarly eBook. Readers are guided through the events leading up to the fight, the battle itself, and finally the aftermath. The eBook contains 10 Sections, including “front material” and a bibliography. Each Section has a webpage that provides a summary with one or more downloadable PDFs that give a detailed account of the Section. The material is free to use, although I kindly request that this site is appropriately acknowledged. The eBook is dynamic. I will update the PDFs as new material and ideas emerge.

In addition, the website provides links to many recent articles, videos and lectures regarding the battle. There is a Blog, for readers to leave comment and a link to the battle’s Facebook page. I plan to add further pages covering personnel and units linked to the battle. After over 160 years of misrepresentation, it is time that the deeds of nearly 60,000 combatants are appropriately acknowledged.
